WALL REPAIRS
Planning a small wall repair
A small hole and a changing crack can need very different responses. Start with the material, size and history, rather than selecting a filler from the appearance alone.
What we will ask you
- What is the wall made from, and how wide and deep is the defect?
- What caused it, and has it returned, spread or changed?
- Is the surrounding finish firm and dry, and what decoration should the repair match?
What might belong in the pack
- A repair material compatible with the substrate and repair depth.
- Suitable application tools and finishing materials, subject to the repair method.
- Protection for nearby finishes and an appropriate redecorating system.
When a closer look is needed
A recurring or changing crack, loose surrounding material, moisture or uncertainty about the substrate needs review. Do not open up or sand unknown suspect materials to identify them.
